MartĂnkovice lies entirely within the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area.
Landscape
The Velká kupa mountain is located in the vicinity of MartĂnkovice. The mountains SupĂ HnĂzdo, Signal, and Ĺ pičák are also located nearby. Permian reddish-brown clay shale occurs on Hoprich, changing to a gray coloration in places.
Settlement Structure and Transport

Churches and Monument Preservation
The Church of St. George and St. Martin is an important rural early Baroque church building from the late 17th century in Bohemia. The present church was built between 1692 and 1698 to a design by Martin Allio and preserves a masonry tower that was added as early as 1650.
At the other end of MartĂnkovice, at the foot of the BroumovskĂ© stÄ›ny, stands the Chapel of St. Anne, dating from 1798. Its interior contains a painting of the Coronation of the Virgin Mary and a Rococo altar of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. The second Way of the Cross near the chapel has all fourteen surviving stone stations.
The Church of Our Lady, St. Martin, together with its rectory, is registered as a protected cultural monument under number 36001/6-1802. The Baroque rectory complex next to the church comprises the rectory and three farm buildings; the present rectory was built between 1692 and 1698.
