Pekov: Hotels and Accommodation

The hilly terrain of Pěkov lies between approximately 500 and 694 metres above sea level. At the same time, Pěkov is located in the Broumov Protected Landscape Area.

Ostaš is a mountain in the vicinity of Pěkov, as are Špičák and Supí Hnízdo. Velká kupa is a mountain near Pěkov. In the vicinity of Police nad Metují, Ostaš is an isolated table mountain with extensive views and distinctive rock formations.

Hiking and Cycling Routes

Pěkov-Hony is a starting point for hiking trails in the Broumov Walls. The “Na Hvězdu a Ostaš” hiking route passes through Pěkov and leads to the junction below Ostaš. The KČT cycling route 4001 is a 30-kilometre circular route of the “Vyhlídková cesta” that leads back to Pasa (Pěkov).

History and Culture

The Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is located in Pěkov. It has been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since January 2001. The first written mention of Pěkov dates from 1395. Pěkov was probably founded around 1256 during the colonisation of the so-called polický újezd.

The castle Zamek Rogowiec, the Ścinawka Górna Castle - Renesansowy dwór, and the Grodno Zagórze śl - Zamek muzeum Castle are located in the wider regional surroundings of Pěkov. The Muchołapka monument is also located in this wider regional area.
