Tyniste Nad Orlici: Hotels and Accommodation

The Město v lesích route is an eleven-kilometre walk that takes three hours and has 22 metres of elevation gain. It is suitable for cyclists and pushchairs and runs on easy, level asphalt terrain.

The “Městská naučná stezka” educational trail was created in 2014 and connects interesting places in the centre of Týniště nad Orlicí and its immediate surroundings.

The Vodárenská věž was built between 1925 and 1928, including the municipal water supply system and the installation of clocks. It serves as a seasonal museum and gallery; its interior has been adapted for exhibitions and small-scale cultural events. The viewing platform offers views over the surrounding area, and in good visibility, mountain peaks can be seen on the horizon.

The first written mention of the Kostel sv. Mikuláše church dates from 1361. In 1842 and 1843, it was rebuilt approximately into its present form, before its tower was increased by one storey in 1940.

The Jaroslav Dostál Gallery opened on 13 November 2013 and houses more than 200 paintings by the local painter Jaroslav Dostál and other regional artists of the 20th century. Visits are possible by prior arrangement.

The Virtuální muzeum presents the history of Týniště nad Orlicí through loaned objects, photographs, postcards and items from its own collecting activities. In the 19th century, Týniště nad Orlicí became an important railway junction: the connections from Prague to Hanušovice were built in 1874, and the line from Choceň to Meziměstí in 1875.

U Glorietu is a protected forest of pine and oak that overlaps with a European protected area established to protect the hermit beetle. Týnišťská borovice is a genetically distinct local type of Scots pine.

The Týnišťské Poorličí area encompasses the entire territory of former game preserves between Třebechovice pod Orebem and Týniště nad Orlicí. It is characterised by mixed forests, ponds and old oak plantings on embankments and along paths. The occurrence of the hermit beetle Osmoderma eremita is particularly associated with centuries-old hollow oaks.

U Houkvice protects rare marsh vegetation on the gravelly-sandy terraces of Podorlicko. The aquatic vegetation of a system of oligomesotrophic ponds is also protected there. The protected area also includes old oaks with a regionally particularly large number of relict and bioindicatorically significant tree-dwelling insect species.

Kemp Písák offers natural swimming in the waters of a natural sand lake.
