Bílá Třemešná: Hotels and accommodations

In Bílá Třemešná, historic buildings and memorial sites meet the Les Království reservoir and seasonal paths through the surrounding area.

History and architectural heritage

Adam Zilvár of Pilníkov bought Bílá Třemešná in 1594 and converted the local fortress into a Renaissance château. The Renaissance château has not survived; František Antonín Harrach had it demolished in 1865–1866. Among the significant monuments of Bílá Třemešná is also a Roman Catholic church in the Romanesque style, founded at the end of the 16th century. The old rectory was built in the Empire style.

On the southern wall of the Church of St. James the Elder in Bílá Třemešná, a preserved sandstone memorial stone for Budivoj Třemešský from 1578 can be found. The town is also connected with literary history: During his stay in Bílá Třemešná, Jan Amos Komenský completed his work “Hlubina bezpečnosti”.

Reservoir and exhibition

Following the severe flood of 1897, the construction of the Les Království reservoir was approved; it was completed in 1919. The reservoir is a national cultural monument. The Les Království dam and its surroundings are freely accessible via public roads. Under favorable conditions, you can enter the observation tower of the Les Království exhibition.

Activities throughout the year

Several cycling routes pass through Bílá Třemešná. In winter, groomed cross-country ski trails lead from Bílá Třemešná to the summit of Zvičina mountain. Above Bílá Třemešná, there is a ski slope with a lift.

Bílá Třemešná can be reached by bus from Dvůr Králové.
