Nature

There are 10 peaks over 1,000 metres high in Malá Úpa and the surrounding area.

Culture

The Hornická stezka has 16 stations in Malá Úpa and three more on the way to the neighbouring Polish town of Kowary. In Malá Úpa, it leads past evidence of ore mining, to the entrance of an exploratory adit from the 1950s, and showcases representative types of Giant Mountains rock and rock formations.

The single-nave Church of St Peter and Paul in Malá Úpa was built between 1788 and 1799 and restored and rebuilt after a fire in 1806.

Trails

The Pohádková stezka in Malá Úpa comprises 10 stations. Each station offers something for entertainment, a picture to trace and a fairy tale. A map of the Pohádková stezka is available at the information centre at Pomezní Boudy. The route can be shortened by skipping the section around Kraví hora or divided into several daily stages.

The KRNAP cycle route 24A, “Okolo Kraví hory”, follows a circular course on forest paths from the church in Malá Úpa to stations 6 and 7 of the Pohádková cesta.

Experiences

The SKiMU Malá Úpa ski resort consists of the two connected areas of Pomezky and U Kostela, with a combined total of more than 6 kilometres of blue and red ski runs.

The Pivovar Trautenberk brewery in Malá Úpa is located in the former Tippeltova bouda, later known as Hotel Družba, and brews unpasteurised and unfiltered beer. At Pivovar Trautenberk, it is possible to take tours of the area where the beer is brewed.

Getting around

There are four visitor car parks in Malá Úpa. P1 Sportcentrum is the largest parking area, located directly at the Polish border. P2 Infocentrum is situated by the information centre, is intended only for daytime parking until 11 p.m. and has a special rate. P3 Zátiší is located opposite the Lesní Zátiší restaurant, and P4 Spálený Mlýn is in Dolní Malá Úpa.
