Choustnikovo Hradiste: Hotels and Accommodations
The historical landmarks in ChoustnĂkovo HradištÄ› include an early medieval castle complex, a Baroque sacred building, and several memorial sites. ChoustnĂkovo HradištÄ› Castle, later known as PalackĂ˝m ChoustnĂkovo HradištÄ›, was built at the beginning of the 14th century. It was strategically constructed on a high rocky promontory, where an Old Slavic hillfort had previously stood. The archaeological castle site has a three-part layout of the bergfried castle type.
Castle and Church
The Baroque Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was built from 1760 to 1770 according to a design by the builder and architect Leopolda Niederöcker and consecrated on October 14, 1770. Beneath the tower is a crypt where, among others, nuns from the former convent and local priests are buried.
Memories of Sporck
In the park in front of the former Hotel Sporck, of which only a deteriorating building remnant remains today, a bust of Count Franz Anton Sporck stands on a high pedestal. The Sporck bust monument was unveiled on July 7, 1901. The Sporck monument now displays a copy of the bust; the original is located in the ceremonial hall of the municipal office in ChoustnĂkovo HradištÄ›.
Remembrance
A memorial ceremony has been held every year in May since 2003 at the grave of the victims of the death march in ChoustnĂkovo HradištÄ›.
Cycling Connections
The signposted regional cycle route 4098 reaches ChoustnĂkovo HradištÄ› at kilometer 15 from RatiboĹ™ice. From ChoustnĂkovo HradištÄ›, it continues via cycle route 4097 to Stanovice, where it connects to Route 24 and the Elbe Cycle Route (Labská stezka).
