Townscape and history
Vojtanov features a clustered arrangement of farmsteads without a central village square. Rural property No. 12 is a protected cultural monument dating from around the turn of the 18th to the 19th century. No. 14 was declared a cultural monument in 1992/93.
Historically, Vojtanov never had a church, rectory, or cemetery; its inhabitants belonged to the parish in Horní Lomany. A mill historically stood on the Vonšovský potok, called “The Village Mill.” The railway connection between Cheb and Reichenbach in Germany contributed to the development of Vojtanov and to the construction of the Nádražní čtvrť district east of the original Vojtanov.
