Winter and Getting Around Locally

In winter, the Jizerská magistrála offers 200 km of groomed cross-country ski trails. The central parking lot in Bedřichov is an access point to the Jizerská magistrála and has a capacity of 200 vehicles. Bedřichov is easily accessible by public transport from Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou.

Trails and Activities

The Bedřichov high ropes course is located at the Bedřichov stadium in the Jizera Mountains, 300 m from the central parking lot. The 1.5 km-long Mravenčí stezka educational trail is primarily designed for children, focuses on the animals living in the Jizerské hory, and leads from the information center or the central parking lot to the Královka lookout platform or the Prezidentská chata.

The 15 km-long route In the Footsteps of Glassmakers' Workshops begins in Bedřichov and leads via Nová Louka, Blatný rybník, Kristiánov, the Josefodolská reservoir, and Hrabětice to Janov nad Nisou. The route For Royal Views includes the Kristiánov Glassmakers' Settlement, the Josefův Důl Reservoir, and the Královka Lookout Tower.

The scooter routes are marked in different colors and with a scooter symbol. The difficulty can be selected based on the route length and elevation profile.

Glassmaking History and Culture

The glassworks in Bedřichov was one of the oldest and longest-operating glassworks in the Jizera Mountains. The oldest known mention of the glassworks in Bedřichov dates from 1598–1602.

Czocha - Zamek XIVw. and Zamek Gryf are castles in the wider region around Bedřichov. Valdštejn and Kaple Nejsvětější Trojice are churches there.
