Wlastiborsch: Hotels and Accommodations

The settlement of Vlastiboř emerged during the Czech colonization of the area around Železný Brod in the 14th and 15th centuries.

Location and Landscape

Vlastiboř lies on the eastern slope of Strážník Mountain. Part of Vlastiboř is situated in a valley sloping eastward, formed by the slopes of Strážník and Veselka. Vlastiboř is also located near the valley of the Kamenice River. Because of this proximity to the Kamenice Valley, recreational use predominates in Vlastiboř.

History and Local Landmarks

The first written mention of Vlastiboř is dated to copies of the tax registers of the Návarov estate from 1565. The copies of the 1565 tax registers mention seven farmers in the village of Wlastiborz.

A monument to the victims of the First World War of 1914–1918 stands in Vlastiboř. A newly restored bell tower is one of the noteworthy local landmarks in Vlastiboř.

Trails and Memorial Sites

A partisan sculpture group stands near the Sokolovna in Vlastiboř. From there, a green-marked hiking trail leads via a forester’s lodge to the partisan dugout. The partisan dugout was built in 1944 by the Konstantin partisan group. At the entrance to the partisan dugout stands a granite pylon from 1974 with a commemorative plaque.

The well-known Bozkov Caves are located in the vicinity of VlastiboÅ™. VlastiboÅ™ has bus connections on weekdays.
