Radvanec: Hotels and accommodations

In and around Radvanec, Baroque sculptures and historic paths meet marked trails as well as bodies of water and bathing areas. One cultural and historical detail is the relief “Ukřižování”: carved into a sandstone block, it is part of the Baroque tradition of popular piety depicting the suffering of Christ.

Culture and history

Radvanec lies on the old trade route to Zittau; the original place name is Rodowitz. The first Radvanec Calvary is a polychrome sandstone relief next to a half-timbered house by the stream, with the coloring corresponding to the Baroque period. There is also a small brick-built chapel in Baroque forms, probably dating from the late 18th century. A second rock relief of Christ is located immediately behind Radvanec, on a slope beside the former road.

The cultural and historical route “Žitavskou cestou za historií Radvance” was designed with 14 stops and a summary information board.

Paths and routes

Blue- and green-marked KČT hiking trails run through Radvanec. The Radvanec–Nový Bor cycle path opened on November 6, 2023. The route from the brewery in Cvikov to the Lípák brewery in Česká Lípa follows the blue-marked hiking trail through Radvanec. In addition, the Radvanecký turistický okruh is designated as a local tourist loop trail.

Water

The Radvanecký rybník, with a bathing area and campsite, is located in the cadastral area of the municipality of Radvanec; it is accessible from Sloup v Čechách. An artificial water reservoir near Havraní skály serves as an outdoor swimming pool in summer.
