Zahrádky: Hotels and Accommodation

Zahrádky combines nature observation with visible traces of local and regional history. With its protected cultural monument, historic sites, rare species and paths through the surrounding countryside, it provides a tangible picture of the destination.

Nature

Peklo is a geologically valuable, gorge-like valley of the Robečský potok stream in sandstone. At the same time, it provides a habitat for rare and endangered plant and animal species, including a large population of spring snowflakes.

Novozámecký rybník was established during the time of Charles IV. The Novozámecký rybník National Nature Reserve is associated with rare bird species and a unique drainage channel carved through the rocks. An observation station and viewing boardwalk were built at Novozámecký rybník in 2013.

Culture and History

The complex of the Church of St. Barbara, with its walls, cemetery, bell tower, staircase and statues, has been protected as a cultural monument since 1958. The church is the only remaining part of the village of Mnichov, which was destroyed during the Thirty Years’ War.

Zahrádky Chateau burned down in January 2003. A statue of Saint Starost dating from 1705 stands between Jestřebí and Zahrádky. The village also contains numerous examples of folk half-timbered architecture.

Zahrádky is located on several hiking and cycling trails.

Kozel, Špičák, Ronov and Čiř are mountains in the vicinity of Zahrádky. Starý Berštejn, a ruin, is also located in the vicinity of Zahrádky.
