Kruh: Hotels and Accommodation

Kruh is a foothill municipality with dispersed settlement. Its elongated settlement structure follows the Kružský potok and the Class III road between Roztoky u Jilemnice, Kruh and Mříčná.

Townscape and Landscape

Kruh lies at an elevation of 410 to 480 metres in a very elongated and relatively enclosed area with nearby lines of sight and terrain horizons.

The mountains Strážník, Tábor, Přední Žalý and Zadní Žalý are located around Kruh.

Culture and History

Kruh Cinema has existed since 1924 and was then part of a cinema system in the First Czechoslovak Republic. It is considered a small village cinema and one of the few remaining facilities of its kind against the backdrop of the decline of rural cinemas.

Following digitisation in December 2016, Kruh Cinema received a larger screen and a 7.1 sound system; the auditorium is also heated.

The traditional Adventní podvečer has been held regularly in Kruh since 2007, at the end of November, and includes exhibitions of nativity scenes and old baking moulds, among other things.

The Tvrziště u čp. 67 archaeological site in Kruh is situated on a triangular spur above the Kružský potok and comprises two masonry buildings.

Tuláčkův statek is an impressive timber-built farmstead with a Baroque gable that was formerly the seat of a factor. Statek čp. 1 is an example of late Baroque folk architecture in the Podkrkonoší region, with a typical log construction and decorated gables.

Leisure

Koupaliště Kruh is located in the centre of Kruh u Jilemnice. It has an artificial pool filled with drinking water.

Koupaliště Kruh includes a snack stand, toilets, changing rooms, a children’s playground and a volleyball court.

Geographical Setting

The Spalona Strażnica ruin site is located in the wider regional surroundings of Kruh. The church sites of Lázně and Valdštejn are also located there.
