Roztoky U Semil: Hotels and Accommodations

The Údolí Vošmendy Nature Reserve lies in the Vošmenda Valley on the western border of Roztoky u Semil. The center of Roztoky u Semil can serve as a starting point for the Údolím Vošmendy educational trail.

Nature

The Údolím Vošmendy educational trail is a 5.5 km circular route that can be walked in both directions. It features eleven information boards, rest areas, a play element, and interactive elements for children. Blue- and green-marked hiking trails also run through Roztoky u Semil in the direction of Vysoké nad Jizerou.

Cycle route No. 4173 runs through Roztoky u Semil in the direction of Jesenný.

History

Roztoky u Semil was first mentioned in written records in 1356–1360. Iron ore was formerly mined in the village. Traditional household occupations included weaving, glass grinding, and stringing beads; during the First Republic, several glass-grinding workshops were established there.

Culture

The historic Roztocký mlýn water mill was founded in 1656 and features authentic mill machinery from the 17th to the 19th century. It is located in Fiedlerovo údolí on the Staroveský potok stream. Rychta 1748 is a farmstead in Roztoky u Semil reconstructed in the traditional style; visitors are welcome to tour it.
