The log building No. 28 – Alinčovi is an immovable cultural monument in Svojek.
Culture and History
The farmstead complex No. 33 – Prášilovi is also an immovable cultural monument in Svojek. In the village centre, house No. 35 – Flajšrovi stands on a road; it was formerly a mill and later a smithy. The protected complex includes house No. 35, part of the dam of a former pond, part of the surrounding stone masonry, a well, and the delineated plots of the complex.
Church services are occasionally held in the Chapel of Saint Anthony. It was built with the support of Antonín Dejmek and consecrated in 1939. A statue of Saint Wenceslas stands next to the former school in Svojek. The school is now used as a cultural centre; the statue was restored in 1999 and treated against the effects of the weather. Another religious sight is the Calvary sculpture in Tample, a district of Svojek, below the kindergarten.
Landscape and Cycling Route
The area of Svojek consists of flat ridges and valleys along watercourses. The difference in elevation between the ridges and valleys in the Svojek area is approximately 80 to 100 metres; the average elevation of the area is 450 metres. Cycling route No. 4294 also passes through Svojek.
Transport and Village Life
The IDOL bus line 543 operates on the Semily–Košťálov–Libštát–Bělá–Svojek route. In the Svojek area, the timetable lists the stops “Svojek”, “Svojek,Tample” and “Svojek,,rozc.Tample”. A traditional fire brigade ball is held annually in Svojek.
