Cakova: Hotels and Accommodation

Čaková is a mountain municipality that stretches for five kilometres along the valley of the Čakovský potok and reaches almost to the foot of the 628-metre-high Chlum.

Landscape and Nature

The hilly, wooded surroundings of Čaková offer good conditions for gathering mushrooms, raspberries and blackberries. Trout and grayling are caught in the Čakovka stream. The U jelena pond in Krásné údolí is used for fishing and recreation.

Culture and History

Čaková has preserved the character of a foothill village; the inhabitants' main occupation was agriculture. The first written mention of Čaková dates from 1498. The wooden, prismatic bell tower is an example of folk architecture from 1754 and is also the only protected monument in the municipality of Čaková.

Routes and Regional Connections

A local mountain road branches off the road from Krnov to Bruntál to Čaková and continues towards Krasov. Cycle route No. 6161 runs from Lesní mlýn via Nové Heřminovy to Čaková.

Water and Recreation

Wellness Chata Čakovka has a covered, heated saltwater pool, which operates from May to September.
