Slezské Pavlovice can be characterised particularly by its protected natural areas, castle history and regional destinations.

Nature

The 30.76-hectare Velký Pavlovický rybník Nature Reserve encompasses a cadastral area that also includes Slezské Pavlovice. The area contains aquatic and wetland ecosystems that provide important habitats for breeding and migratory birds, amphibians and the fire-bellied toad (Bombina bombina).

The Džungle Nature Reserve is a 9.9432-hectare protected area in the cadastral territory of Slezské Pavlovice. It protects hardwood floodplain forest with old oak trees and softwood stands of willows and alders. It also includes extensive sedge marshes that provide a habitat for protected amphibians, a species-rich bird population with breeding habitat, and a large population of protected snowdrops.

The Osoblažský výběžek European protected area also includes the cadastral territory of Slezské Pavlovice.

Culture and History

Slezské Pavlovice Castle stands on the site of a fortress that probably already existed in the second half of the 14th century. Its present appearance dates back to a late Baroque reconstruction in the mid-18th century. The castle, dating from the second half of the 18th century, has preserved remnants of its park.

Slezské Pavlovice is also home to a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from the second half of the 18th century.

Route E of the Osoblažsko microregion passes through Osoblaha, Hlinka and Slezské Pavlovice. It is part of a project for cycling and hiking tours.
