Culture and History

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Ludvíkov dates from 1720. The chapel from 1923 commemorates the victims of the First World War.

The ruins of Fürstenwalde Castle in Ludvíkov, on the summit of Zámecká Hora, are an important archaeological site. The remains of Fürstenwalde Castle, founded by Mikuláš II of Opava in the second quarter of the 14th century, fell into decay in the second half of the 15th century. The ruins of Edelštejn, Cvilin and Nový Hrad are also located in the wider region around Ludvíkov.

Rocks and Viewpoints

Skály v Ludvíkově is an extensive climbing area in Ludvíkov with four rock massifs, each approximately 400 metres long, above the cemetery. In the K2 massif, the highest walls reach up to 30 metres.

Since 2012, a covered wooden viewing platform has stood on Zámecká hora above Ludvíkov at an elevation of 854 m. The platform offers a view of the surrounding mountains and the valley.

Bus route 861 serves several stops in Ludvíkov and continues to Vrbno pod Pradědem railway station.
