Svetla Hora: Hotels and Accommodation

Světlá Hora lies in the foothills of the Hrubý Jeseník mountains at an elevation of 595 metres above sea level. The boundaries of the Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area run through Světlá Hora; the surrounding area offers opportunities for downhill skiing.

History and Culture

Světlá Hora was first mentioned in writing in 1267. The Church of Saint Barbara and Saint Catherine was built in 1798. It is an oriented single-nave late Baroque masonry building with a semicircular apse and an attached sacristy, as well as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

Above-ground and underground mining remains from medieval gold extraction have been preserved in Suchá Rudná. Gold panning and mining took place there as early as around the transition from the 1220s to the 1230s of the 13th century. Amateur theatre and traditional cultural events are part of community life in Světlá Hora.

Farma U Stromovouse welcomes visitors at Stará Voda 114 in Světlá Hora. It produces cheese and other dairy products from the milk of its animals.

Road II/452 is completely closed from 11 August to 20 December 2026 on the Světlá Hora (Světlá)–Karlovice section.
