Fryčovice: Hotels and accommodations

Fryčovice lies on both banks of the Ondřejnice River. The town’s historic features include the stone Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary: it was built between 1335 and 1345, is the oldest stone church building in the Frýdek-Místek District, and is a protected cultural monument.

Culture and history

At a traditional Easter market in Fryčovice, held on a Thursday, April 6, from 4 p.m. on the Náves in the town center, there was cimbalom music, children’s workshops, the braiding of Easter whips, an Easter bunny with a basket full of sweets for children, the sale of Easter decorations, and refreshments provided by local organizations.

Nature

At 354 m, Sovinec is the highest point in Fryčovice and currently serves as a game enclosure where a herd of white-tailed deer is kept. The Obora Sovinec educational trail is used for recreational walks. It leads from the center of Fryčovice westward to the Sovinec game enclosure and onward to the neighboring municipalities of Kateřinice and Trnávka.

Getting around

Cycle route No. 6006 runs along existing roads from south to north through the center of Fryčovice. As a marked cycle route, it forms the Olešná–Hukvaldy–Brušperk–Olešná circuit and passes through Fryčovice.

Leisure

The FRY Relax Centrum features a relaxation pool with two counter-current systems, a water jet, and a whirlpool feature. There is also a squash court with a glazed rear wall and a spectator area. The badminton court at the FRY Relax Centrum is open to the general public. Visitors to the FRY Relax Centrum can cool off in an outdoor pool after using the sauna.
