Nature and Trails

The well-maintained regional cycle route 6005 and local cycle route 6163 pass through Horní Domaslavice. Mořské oko is protected as a significant landscape feature and is one of the five stations on the educational trail in Horní Domaslavice. The educational trail is easily accessible by bus and car; parking spaces are available at the entrance near the Church of St. James the Elder.

Culture and History

The Church of St. James the Elder is a late Baroque building constructed between 1739 and 1745. After the church and parish buildings burned down on 25 August 1892, a new parish and church were built in 1893, and the tower was restored once again; its appearance from that time has been preserved to this day. The parish Church of St. James the Elder was declared a cultural monument in 1999 by a decision of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

According to tradition, the Chapel of St. Anne in Horní Domaslavice dates back to 1654; it later also served as a crypt. The cross near Vidíkov bears the year 1863; it presumably commemorates the access to the cemetery at the site of the first wooden church in the municipality, which no longer exists today. Horní Domaslavice Castle later disappeared and was gradually dismantled.
