Fulnek can be discovered through its distinctive cultural monuments, historical figures, and specific landscape destinations in the surrounding area. Its connection to the history of Jan Amos Komenský and the Unity of the Brethren is particularly strong.

Culture and History

Knurrův palác stands on Komenského náměstí. It is a Baroque, four-winged, three-storey palace dating from the early 18th century. Its monumental portal bears a relief of the Coronation of Mary. Today, the palace serves as a cultural centre for exhibitions, concerts, and other cultural and social events; visitors can tour the palace as part of guided tours.

The former assembly house of the Unity of the Brethren in Fulnek is a national cultural monument; Jan Amos Komenský worked there in the 17th century. The Svět Komenského Fulnek exhibition presents him as a young administrator of the Unity of the Brethren, school rector, and priest who came to Fulnek in 1618. It uses projections of contemporary flyers from the period of his stay in Fulnek, as well as touch-operated multimedia information kiosks.

The Church of the Holy Trinity in Fulnek features unique fresco decoration and contains a Gothic cloister with a Paradise Garden. Free guided tours are available there on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:00 to 15:00.
