Several paths lead up Kamenný Hill, offering views of the Beskids. The hill also offers one of the most beautiful walks with views of the surrounding landscape.
Nature and Water
The Trnávka stream flows through the Kateřinice valley. The Kateřinice reservoir is now used year-round for recreational sports and fishing; it is a recreational area with opportunities for fishing and swimming, as well as a natural swimming spot.
History
The original water fortress in Kateřinice was converted into a Baroque château shortly after 1698 under Maxmilián and Václav Harasovský. Late Gothic stone vaulted cellars and an old stone well remain from the water fortress. The well has a diameter of 1.2 metres and is 7 metres deep. The former château now serves as a family home and is privately owned.
Cycling and Culture
Cycling route No. 6134 passes through Kateřinice, runs from Příbor to Stará Ves nad Ondřejnicí, and is 12 km long. The Krakow–Moravia–Vienna Greenways cycling route also passes through Kateřinice; it is part of the Castles and Nature of Poodří circuit. The Kravařsko circuit also runs through Kateřinice.
The local Krmáš, also known as Posvícení, is regularly celebrated on the first Sunday after All Souls' Day and is usually accompanied by a dance event. The trail run is one of the popular and frequently attended events in Kateřinice.
