Neutitschein: Hotels and Accommodation

In the historic centre of Neutitschein, the Městská památková rezervace Nový Jičín preserves historic plots, the character of the buildings, traditional floor plans, historic structures and the connecting arcades. It includes a square with arcades and a right-angled system of adjoining streets that reflects the city’s founding period under Přemysl Otakar II. The historic centre within the Městská památková rezervace Nový Jičín is one of the most original and authentic examples of a Renaissance-Baroque town with preserved medieval urban development.

Culture

After 1945, the Žerotínský zámek became the home of the Muzeum Novojičínska. The Muzeum Novojičínska houses a collection of hats and headwear that is considered unique in Europe.

The Hückelovy vily comprise a pair of villas designed as mirror images of each other, built between 1880 and 1882 according to designs by the Viennese architect Otto Thienemann. The Renaissance prism tower of the Kostelní věž farního chrámu Nanebevzetí Panny Marie was built at the end of the 16th century and is 66 metres high, including its dome. The public park around the Hückelovy vily allows visitors to walk from Revoluční Street to Lesopark Skalky.

Laudonův dům is the house where the Austrian field marshal Ernst Gideon von Laudon died in 1790. Since 2011, it has housed the Návštěvnické centrum. The Návštěvnické centrum Nový Jičín is fully accessible; there is a ramp at the main entrance, and a lift is available in the rear part of the building for people with reduced mobility and visitors with pushchairs.

At Laudonův dům, children and adults can play the game Laudoncaching, a variant of geocaching.

Cycling

The Cyklostezka “Koleje” is an easy cycling route with only slight inclines and is also suitable for families with children.
