Závišice: Hotels and Accommodation

The educational trail Naučná stezka okolo Závišic is approximately eight kilometres long and has eight stations with seating. Six stations offer interactive elements for children.

Nature and Educational Trail

At the Pískovna station, visitors learn that an inland glacier lay over this location approximately 300,000 years ago. Near the viewpoint on the Hůrka slope are the ravines of a former small-scale limestone quarry, where limestone was extracted for lime burning.

Culture and History

The Roman Catholic Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius is located next to the school building in the centre of Závišice. It was ceremonially consecrated in September 1935. The Chapel of the Assumption of Our Lady in the Závišice Paseky dates from 1861.

Events and Cycling Routes

The Dožínky harvest festival in Závišice begins with a procession in traditional costumes through the centre of the village to the festival grounds behind the local cultural centre. It offers Frgály, grilled meat, potato pancakes and a honey tasting.

At the Závišický Pedál, cycling routes of varying lengths and difficulty, from 15 to 75 kilometres, are available. The Závišický Pedál is a partially orienteering cycling tour for experienced bikers as well as parents with children.
