Jesenec: Hotels and Accommodations

Jesenec Castle was built in 1711 on the site of a former fortress and continues to serve as a retirement home. In the park above Jesenec Castle there is a small Lourdes grotto featuring a depiction of the Virgin Mary. The Church of St. Libor in Jesenec was built between 1711 and 1714 and is a rare architectural monument with an oval floor plan; this architectural form came from Vienna.

Culture

The main entrance to the Church of St. Libor is used year-round. Near Jesenec there is the monument “Pomník obětem 1. a 2. světové války”. In the immediate vicinity of Jesenec there are also the church “Kaple Panny Marie Lurdské”, the church “Kaple Panny Marie”, and the church “Kaple Božského srdce”.

Geographical Location

Jesenec lies on the southern slope of Zámecká Horka, on the road between Konice and Moravská Třebová. The Jesenka stream rises on the border between Jesenec and Dzbel; farther downstream, it is called the Romže.

Pilgrimage

Jesenec is a pilgrimage site visited every year by pilgrims from far away. The pilgrimage in honor of Saint Libor takes place on the Sunday closest to the feast day of Saint Libor on July 23.

Nature

The educational trail in Kladecko Nature Park ends in Jesenec. In the vicinity of Jesenec are the elevations recorded as mountains “Skalky”, “Skály”, and “Husák”. In the wider regional surroundings of Jesenec is the elevation recorded as a mountain “Horka”.
