Culture and History
The village is home to the church “Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie,” with a covered staircase consisting of 60 granite steps. The present church is the second church built on this site.
The Baroque chapel “Kaple sv. Františka Xaverského” in Kokory dates back to 1724. It was built by the Jesuits, although there are also indications that it is older. The chapel documents significant Jesuit building activity in Central Moravia and is listed among the immovable cultural monuments of the Přerov District.
One of the town’s most distinctive buildings is the historic brewery in Kokory. It was built by the Jesuits in the second half of the 18th century.
Landscape and Paths
The educational trail “Naučná stezka kokorskými lesy” begins behind the municipal pond on the eastern edge of Kokory and leads toward the valley of the Olešnice. The trail uses information panels to present information.
The nearby surroundings of Kokory include the hill “Přední kopec,” the hill “Na Kokorských kopcích [Nelešovice],” and the hill “(U Kříže) [Lhotka u Přerova].”
Ponds where fishing is possible are located near the holiday cottage area east of Kokory.
