On Spálený kopec are the remains of a fortification dating from the transition between the Late Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age, dated to the 9th–7th centuries BC. Its defenses consist of three stone-and-clay ramparts. Due to its small size and the limited amount of material found, the fortification is probably considered to have been a refuge.

History

The archaeological landscape of Myslejovice includes the remains of fortifications from the period of early Slavic settlement on the nearby hills of Kozákov, Zámčisko, and Spálený vrch. Traces of settlements from the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Gallic culture have also been found in the vicinity of Myslejovice.

The remains of the hillfort known as Křéba lie about 400 meters from the center of Myslejovice. In 1991, pottery fragments from the Late Neolithic Funnelbeaker culture were found at Křéba. The southern and western sides of Křéba descend above the Brodečka and a left-bank tributary; the elevation difference is up to 60 meters. The Křéba site is freely accessible.

The wooded hill of Zámčisko lies about 500 meters west of Myslejovice; a small castle stood there in the Middle Ages. The former castle site of Zámčisko is not publicly accessible without permission, as it lies within the Březina military training area.

Culture

The Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in Myslejovice is a Baroque building dating from 1788. West of Myslejovice, near the Winterovka cottage, there is a small monument commemorating Karl Winter’s death in 1912.

Landscape

Myslejovice lies on the eastern edge of the Drahanská vrchovina highlands and is surrounded by the forests of the Březina military training area; the Myslejovická Reservoir is also located there. Fishing at the Myslejovická Reservoir is restricted due to military training activities. A marked local cycling route runs through Myslejovice.
