Želeč: Hotels and Accommodation

At the village square in Želeč, original agricultural farmsteads and an old avenue of linden trees shape the villagescape. The village lies in a shallow depression between opposing southern and northern slopes and blends into gently rolling terrain.

Culture

The parish church of St. Bartholomew in Želeč was consecrated on 27 August 1939 by the Bishop of Olomouc, ThDr. Josef Schinzel. The single-nave building has a narrower pentagonal presbytery, a sacristy and a 31-metre-high tower. The protected complex includes the church, the cemetery wall with gates, a niche chapel and the enclosed plots of the grounds.

East of the village square in Želeč, a listed granary stands within the grounds of the farmstead. A remarkable Poklona sv. Jana Nepomuckého dating from the late 18th century stands by the wall of the chateau grounds in Želeč. The former manor house of Želeč was converted from an original fortress into a Renaissance-style residence by the Želeckých z Počenic family in the 1570s.

Landscape

Below Želeč lies a landscaped reservoir with an island, which is considered one of the important biotopes. In a field on the right side of the road on the hill between Želeč and Doloplazy stands the three-sided, plastered wayside shrine Boží muka.

Sports and Opening Hours

The Sportovní areál a Wellness Želeč includes a tennis court and two multi-purpose courts with synthetic surfaces for tennis, volleyball, Nohejbal, floorball and small-sided football.

The two multi-purpose courts are freely and publicly accessible every day from 09:00 to 16:00; after 16:00, free reservation is required in advance.
