Culture

In the second half of the 19th century, Supíkovice developed into a leading center of marble mining and processing. Due to its marble industry, the village received the symbolic nickname “Silesian Carrara”.

Vápenka is a listed technical monument dating from 1856, an oval stone shaft-kiln complex for burning lime. Every year during the summer holidays, the Supíkovické Dřevosochání takes place nearby. Vápenka is accessible via a local road and maintained by the municipality.

Tourists can visit the Church of Saint Hedwig in the center of Supíkovice. The traditional Supíkovický Masopust was scheduled for February 7, 2026, with a masked procession and live music.

Nature

Na Špičáku in Supíkovice is designated both as a National Nature Monument (ÚSOP code CZ07137305576) and as a Natura 2000 site (N2000 code CZ0713730). The Na Špičáku protected area comprises remnants of yew and juniper stands on a rocky ridge up to 33 m high at the summit of the 482 m-high Velký Špičák. It also includes a field of white crystalline limestone boulders, surface karst features, and an underground limestone cave system.

Jeskyně Na Špičáku features passages with a characteristic heart-shaped profile formed by the meltwater of a glacier. The current visitor route in Jeskyně Na Špičáku is 220 m long and barrier-free. The six-kilometre-long educational trail “Po stopách doby ledové” leads to Jeskyně Na Špičáku.
