Hluboká: Hotels and Accommodation

The Borůvka observation tower is 18.5 metres high. It was opened to the public near Hluboká on 4 June 2005.

Nature

The Pivnice rock gorge lies between Hluboká and Zderaz, south of the settlement of Dolany. The Pivnice natural monument protects a narrow gorge cut into marl and soft sandstone, featuring a rock tunnel, cave, overhangs and erosional formations. The Pivnice Gorge is currently closed due to dangerous landslides.

Culture and History

A memorial to those who fell in the First World War was erected in the centre of Hluboká in 1924. The names of 17 soldiers who did not return from the war are engraved on the memorial. Hluboká is also home to the Chapel of St Peter and St Paul, Apostles, in the cadastral area of Hluboká u Skutče.

Geographical Location

Road III/30532 connects Luže, Hluboká and Perálec. The Všivická Trail runs from Střítež via Hluboká to Kutřín. The Jarošov mountain lies in the wider regional surroundings of Hluboká. Nearby are the Macháčkův kopec hill [Perálec], Na Průhoně hill [Luže-Brdo] and Heráně hill [Skuteč-Zbožnov].
