Tuněchody combines a historic church building with protected landscape areas and a location near the Chrudimka River. This brings together cultural and natural features in a small area that specifically shape the character of the locality.

Culture and History

The Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist in Tuněchody dates from 1350. The single-nave, rectangular building has a five-sided, enclosed presbytery. The Church of St. George is also located in the vicinity of Tuněchody.

In the southern part of Habrov there is a listed prehistoric hillfort dating from the Late Neolithic.

Nature and Landscape

Part of the Habrov Nature Reserve lies in the cadastral area of Tuněchody. The protected area preserves rare thermophilous plant communities in an oak-hornbeam forest with shrub borders, meadow islands, and wetlands.

The Chrudimka River flows in the immediate vicinity of Tuněchody. In the surrounding area are the Na Kamenci hill [Ostřešany], Stropinský vrch hill [Úhřetická Lhota], and the hill (Turyň) [Kočí]. Bučina Mountain lies in the wider regional surroundings of Tuněchody.

Cycle Path and Railway Stop

Cycle path 4112 passes through Tuněchody. The Tuněchody railway stop is approximately 1 km south of the village.

Public Sports Court

The multi-purpose sports court in Tuněchody is also available to the public and can be reserved through a reservation system.
