Barchov: Hotels and accommodations

Barchov lies on the left bank of the Podolka stream. Densely growing willows along the stream formerly gave the village the nickname “Barchov Vrbový.”

History

Veselí, now part of the municipality of Barchov, was formerly a fortress and a manorial farmstead. The former fortress of Veselí lost its characteristic appearance after a storm in 1929, when its original roof was replaced with a flat concrete roof. Written records from the late 15th century mention a miller in Barchov.

The building of the former fortress in Veselí, house number 25, is privately owned.

Culture

The Church of Saint George is located in the vicinity of Barchov. There is a cross next to the bell tower in Barchov. Barchov also has a municipal library dating from 1909.

In much of the built-up area, there are sidewalks along Class III road 32226 and the local roads connected to Class I road I/2. Barchov regularly organizes activities for children.
