Dolní Ředice can be explored through its local history, cultural life, and specific regional connections. Ředice was first mentioned in writing on April 9, 1336, under the name Hermansdorf. On March 20, 1849, Dolní Ředice and Horní Ředice were definitively separated into two villages.

History and Culture

Joža Jaro came from Dolní Ředice and was a music teacher and composer. He was born on January 20, 1901, in Dolní Ředice, in a house on what is now Na Kopečku Street. The name Ředice derives from the former name of the Ředina stream, which was also called Ředinka or Ředička and is now known as Ředický potok.

The nearby Church of Saint Wenceslas in Horní Ředice continued to serve worshippers from Horní Ředice and Dolní Ředice even after the separation of the two municipalities. The traditional Masopust carnival is held regularly in Dolní Ředice.
