History and Architectural Heritage

In Horní Roveň, the parish church of St. Catherine was first mentioned in 1349. The present-day Church of St. Catherine was built there between 1697 and 1699 on the site of an earlier wooden church. The Church of St. Peter and Paul in Komárov acquired its present appearance in 1877. The school in Dolní Roveň at house numbers 200, 201, and 205 is also listed as a cultural monument.

Landscape and Surroundings

Boršov Forest borders directly on the eastern edge of Dolní Roveň. Lodrant Pond lies at the southern edge of this forest and is a site of landscape and natural value. Its dam features old oak stands; the surrounding area contains natural stands consisting predominantly of deciduous trees.

The immediate surroundings of Dolní Roveň include Hlaváč Hill [Dašice-Prachovice], Na Kopci Hill [Dolní Roveň], and Jandák Hill [Moravany-Čeradice nad Loučnou]. The wider regional area includes Strýc Mountain and the Church of St. George.

Paths and Activities
