Lázně Bohdaneč: Hotels and accommodations

The Gočárův Circuit runs for five kilometres through Lázně Bohdaneč and the surrounding open countryside. The route includes 14 sites.

Nature

The Lázeňský park covers 17 hectares and contains around 100 species of native and exotic woody plants, as well as their cultivars. Well-maintained paths, benches and neatly kept lawns invite visitors to take walks and relax. At the same time, the park serves as a refuge for numerous animal species, especially birds, bats and insects.

Another circular trail leads from Lázně Bohdaneč to the Bohdanečské rybníky ponds. It is approximately 4.5 kilometres long and takes about two hours at a leisurely walking pace.

The Bohdanečské rybníky educational trail passes through a national nature reserve. It is 7.25 kilometres long and has six stops with information panels.

Culture

The Church of svatá Máří Magdalény in Lázně Bohdaneč is a Baroque church built between 1728 and 1737. The town hall is a monument of the Czech Renaissance dating from the mid-16th century; a Baroque façade was added after the fire of 1772. The Lázeňský pavilon Gočár was built in the spa grounds of Lázně Bohdaneč between 1910 and 1913; it is one of the few buildings in the Cubist style.

The traditional annual autumn fish harvest at Bohdanečský rybník takes place in October and is accompanied by the sale of grilled fish specialities.

Geographical location

The Church of Svatý Jiří is located in the vicinity of Lázně Bohdaneč. The surrounding area includes the Na Podbahní hill [Pardubice-Ohrazenice] and Bílý kopec hill [Valy nad Labem]. In the wider regional area are Zámek Kačina Castle and the Krkanka and Bučina mountains.
