Zdechovice: Hotels and Accommodation
Zdechovice is considered the gateway to the Železné hory. The village is still home to the church dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul, which acquired its present appearance following a Baroque renovation in 1716.
Culture and History
The historic Trstenická stezka route passed through Zdechovice; here it split in the directions of Sázava and Prague. Historical evidence of iron mining can also be found in Zdechovice.
Nature and Landscape
Petrova šlápota is one of the memorial sites in the forests of Zdechovice. Obří postele is another such memorial site; in the vicinity of Zdechovice, it is an interesting natural rock formation made of stone gravel that resembles large beds.
The estate belonging to Zdechovice Chateau originally included a park, a fallow deer enclosure and two ponds. The chateau park underwent extensive revitalization in 2015.
Routes and Activities
The Svatojakubská cesta comes from Kladruby nad Labem to Zdechovice along a blue-marked hiking trail and continues from the Obří postele signpost along a green-marked trail towards Záboří nad Labem. Another blue-marked trail leads from Řečany nad Labem to Zdechovice; there is a signpost in the village square by the memorial to the fallen.
Due to the gently undulating terrain, the hiking trails in Zdechovice can generally also be used as cycling routes, with only minor exceptions. Sport fishing is the only type of fishing practiced at Pilský Pond, which covers an area of 7 ha.
