Horní Jelení: Hotels and accommodations

Horní Jelení is located in eastern Bohemia on the border between the foothills of the Orlické Mountains and the Polabian Lowland.

Culture

The Church of the Holy Trinity in Horní Jelení was built by Varlich von Bubna between 1600 and 1602. It features an unusually designed ceiling and rich Baroque interior furnishings; the church also contains the burial place of Varlich von Bubna.

The Marian Column is a High Baroque monument dating from 1704. It is approximately 10 metres high and surrounded by a massive sandstone balustrade on a square plan.

Nature

The wooded landscape around Horní Jelení invites visitors to take walks to the nearby Pětinoha pond. Pětinoha is a pond with plant communities in which rare plant species occur, particularly the critically endangered water starwort (Callitriche hermaphroditica L.).

Horní Jelení is known for its abundant annual mushroom harvest and, in particular, for its blueberry harvest.
