Vysoke Chvojno: Hotels and accommodations

Vysoké Chvojno showcases natural and local history at several clearly designated sites. Between the arboretum, protected woodland areas, a nature trail, and the Church of St. Gothard, a diverse picture of the town emerges.

Nature

The Vysoké Chvojno Arboretum was established by Alexander Pallavicini from 1886 to 1889 in the English style on an area of 6 ha. It has an information system and several rest areas. There are also 220 labelled tree and shrub species.

The U Parku Nature Reserve has been protected since 1955. It is a remnant of a mixed deciduous forest with spruce trees on a south-facing marl slope. The trees in the so-called “Prachovská stráň” are more than 170 years old.

In the northern part of Vysoké Chvojno, there is a bison enclosure covering approximately 0.7 ha.

On the way

The entire Viselce nature trail is accessible to pedestrians and cyclists year-round. It is 6.5 km long and ends in Vysoké Chvojno at a game enclosure.

Culture

The first mention of the Church of St. Gothard in Vysoké Chvojno dates back to the 14th century. It was rebuilt in 1735.
