Čistá: Hotels and Accommodation

Čistá lies on both banks of the Loučná River. The character of the village is particularly impressive in its combination of preserved cultural monuments, views across the surrounding area and a bell-ringing tradition that is still maintained today.

Culture and History

The parish church of Saint Nicholas in Čistá already existed in 1349. Its Gothic presbytery was completed in 1583, and Renaissance paintings have been preserved inside, including a partially preserved depiction of the Crucifixion of Christ. The Baroque extension began in 1740; the subsequent repairs continued until 1772. The church is registered as a cultural monument under ÚSKP number 37158/6-3032.

Another important testimony to the past is farmstead No. 171 in Čistá, which has been a national cultural monument since 2014. It preserves a smoke room and a roof structure dating from the 16th century. This is the oldest surviving roof structure of a rural building known today. The farmstead is freely accessible year-round, with free admission.

Viewpoint

The Vyhlídka u Fajmonovy lípy is a wooden footbridge located approximately four metres above the ground. It offers panoramic views of the surrounding area, including the panorama of the Krkonoše Mountains.

Spiritual Heritage

A Way of the Cross leads to the Church of Saint Nicholas in Čistá. The bells are rung regularly in Čistá. The village bell-ringers decided to bring back the missing bells and revive the tradition of bell-ringing.
