Korouhev: Hotels and accommodations

Korouhev showcases its geological history in the open air: the Korouhev Geological Exhibition is a permanent open-air display of significant rocks and the geological development of the wider area surrounding the municipality. It comprises ten large-format rock samples and illustrates geological development over a period of approximately 500 million years.

Culture

The village is characterized by House No. 163, which has been protected by the state since 1963. It is considered an authentically preserved example of a courtyard-style log-house farmstead typical of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The Church of Saints Peter and Paul also dates back a long way: it is considered one of the oldest churches in the region, and its origins are dated to around 1050. Behind the main altar is a sanctuary, that is, a niche in the wall; the church acquired its present appearance in 1908.

In Korouhev, visitors can see several historically preserved houses. Fishing is possible in the Svratka River and in Musil Pond in Lačnov, a settlement belonging to Korouhev.

Nature

Korouhev lies in the valley of the Mlýnský potok, and the surrounding area is characterized by a hilly landscape. The mountains of Librův Kopec, Kočíko, Na jedli and Drašarov are located around Korouhev. The highest peak near Korouhev is said to be the 690 m-high hill of Bezděk.

Korouhev offers easy hiking as a leisure activity. Hiking route 4023 is designated for Korouhev.
