Mladějov na Moravě: Hotels and Accommodation

The Mladějov narrow-gauge railway, with a gauge of 600 mm, was built towards the end of the First World War to transport shale, fireclay and local coal.

Culture and History

Excursion trains hauled by steam locomotives regularly operate on the Mladějov narrow-gauge railway on announced dates. Their route passes through a beautiful natural landscape on the slopes of the Hřebečovský hřbet ridge.

The Průmyslové muzeum Mladějov is located on the grounds of the former fireclay works in Mladějov na Moravě. The former Mladějovská rychta is also part of the historic building heritage: a self-contained rural manor house with a side gallery and wooden storage chambers on the upper floor. The gables bear painted inscriptions with the year 1791.

Mladějov–Blosdorf 1915 is a traditional memorial ceremony commemorating the soldiers who fell on all fronts of the First World War.

At the southern edge of the built-up area of Mladějov na Moravě, on the left-hand side of the path to Mladějovské hradisko, stands a cross made of local yellow sandstone, approximately 4.5 metres high, bearing the body of the crucified Christ.

Trails and Landscape

A green-marked hiking trail leads from Mladějov na Moravě to Mladějovské hradisko. A marked local cycle route also runs through the village.

Pod Skálou Natural Monument

The cadastral areas of the Pod Skálou Natural Monument include Nová Ves u Moravské Třebové and Mladějov na Moravě. Pod Skálou can be reached from the road via a walkable tourist trail; the locality is more than 250 m from the road.

The reasons for protection include natural populations of European yew in beech stands, as well as an abundant occurrence of rare thermophilous plants on exposed rock outcrops.
