The Údolí Křetínky Nature Park extends into the cadastral area of Stašov. Approximately 400 hectares of the park’s total area of 5,570 hectares are located within the municipality.
Nature and Water
The Křetínka floodplain begins approximately at the southern houses of Stašov and continues southward through a deeply incised valley. The Za školou pond cascade is a system of ponds with surrounding wetlands on an unnamed stream between the church of Stašov and the road to Jedlová.
In the Křetínka catchment area, the Stašovské rybníky form a system of 11 ponds in total, created since 1995 as part of the revitalization of the catchment area. The 4-hectare Velký stašovský pond is used for sport fishing and is stocked with carp, tench, pike, catfish, perch, rainbow trout, and coarse fish.
Culture and Local History
House No. 5 in Stašov is an Empire-style building from the early 19th century.
The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Stašov is a detached single-nave building with a chancel facing west. It stands on a hill in the upper part of the square, is a local landmark, and its main altar faces west. The church was restored between 1864 and 1873.
The rectory adjoining the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is one of Stašov’s significant historic buildings. Traditional folk architecture is also among Stašov’s attractions.
Leisure and Trails
Balda, also known as Zlatá studna, is located in the cadastral area of Stašov and is a destination with former spa facilities and mineral springs. Balda was a forest spa dating from the 17th century; today, only an iron-rich water spring and a chapel remain there.
The 18.8-kilometre Polička–Stašov–Svojanov cycle route is designated as route number 4104. The demanding Polička–Svojanov cycling route and return journey passes through Stašov, is 47.5 kilometres long, and is suitable for mountain bikes and cross bikes.
Running routes and easy hiking are among the leisure activities in Stašov.
