Lubná: Hotels and accommodations

Lubná was first mentioned in 1167. The settlement was assigned to the Litomyšl Chapter in 1347.

History

In the first half of the 19th century, Kajetánčina huť made Lubná well known. The glass products of Kajetánčina huť were exported to Spain, the Netherlands, and America. According to local tradition, the chandelier for the Chapel of St. Anne was made at Kajetánčina huť.

Culture

The Chapel of St. Anne stands in the center of Lubná; it was enlarged in 1857 and dedicated to Saint Anne. The Chapel of St. Xaver has stood in the center of Lubná since 1857. The Holy Trinity statue stands on the road from Lubná to Široký Důl. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on the road known as Stará silnice.

Nature

The Lubenský stream flows through the built-up part of Lubná and rises in Lubenské paseky. The Desná rises in the Lubenský forest. At 699 meters above sea level, Skalka hill is the highest point in Lubná. Skalka is also a center for sports and cultural events in Lubná.

Local life

The Anenská pouť takes place every year at Lubná's summer grounds. Lubenská šťopička is a local spirits festival founded in 2008. It includes public tastings of selected spirits and liqueurs, as well as music and a cultural program.

The Velikonoční jarmark in Lubná became a traditional event after its first edition. It takes place on the Saturday one week before Easter at the summer grounds. The Vánoční prodejní výstava Christmas sales exhibition in Lubná has a tradition spanning more than twenty years and is always held at the beginning of December in the hall at Skalka.

Lubná is one of the member municipalities of the Kraj Smetany a Martinů association, from which the local circular routes can be completed.
