Pomezí: Hotels and Accommodation

Pomezí features the settlement form typical of the Vysočina region, known as a forest village: detached farmsteads lie on both sides of the stream valley and the road.

Culture and History

The Church of St. George in Pomezí is mentioned in 1349 in connection with the Diocese of Litoměřice; it was probably built in the Gothic style. It preserves Gothic architectural elements, while its interior features Baroque and, in particular, Rococo characteristics. A bell dating from 1511 hangs in the church tower. Stone angel figures dating from 1870 stand at the entrance to the cemetery. The Church of St. George is a protected cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary in Pomezí was repaired in the 1930s after a nearby fire in August 1924 damaged the chapel, and it was consecrated on September 12, 1937.

Cycle Paths and Surroundings

The marked regional road cycling route 4023 runs through Balda, Pomezí, Květná, and Čistá. Cycling route 4102 runs around the site of the former fortress in Pomezí and through an area used for agriculture.

The forest chapel of Panna Maria Zázračná is located in the Balda Forest near Pomezí.

Transport Connections

From Pomezí, there is a rail connection on the Svitavy–Polička–Skuteč line. There are also bus connections between Polička and Rohozná and between Polička and Svitavy.
