Moravská Trebová: Hotels and accommodations

Moravská Třebová Castle is one of the most significant Renaissance monuments in Central Europe.

Culture and history

The castle features a preserved portal dating from 1492, considered the oldest surviving Renaissance monument north of the Alps. The “Město a svět” exhibition offers a modern perspective on the history of Moravská Třebová in dialogue with exotic cultures. Among its unique artifacts from around the world is the Egyptian mummy Hereret, which forms the centerpiece of the collection.

St. Joseph’s Church, together with the adjoining Chapel of St. Peter, has eight altars. The church is accessible during services. In the Latin School building, the ethnographic exhibition “Rok na Hřebečsku” provides insights into German folk culture and the history of the Hřebečsko region through everyday objects, clothing, and other historical artifacts.

Routes through the city

The 1.5 km historical educational trail “Cesta od renesance k baroku” leads from the city’s Renaissance core to a Baroque highlight above the city. Bicycle rental is available at Moravská Třebová railway station. The “Důlní stezky, Hřebeč” cycling route is listed as being 25 km long.

Nature and landscape

The “Muzejní sad” museum garden on Křížový vrch in Moravská Třebová preserves a collection of 34 standard fruit trees with varieties typical of the traditional landscape of the Hřebečsko region.

Peklo is located in the vicinity of Moravská Třebová. A hike of approximately 45 minutes leads there from the town square along a green-marked route. A chapel stands above the spring, whose water is drinkable during most of the year.
