The protected heritage site of St. Andrew’s Church in Vendolí includes the church, the mortuary chapel, the associated grounds, and the boundary walls with chapels.

Culture

St. Andrew’s Church stands on a former cemetery enclosed by a boundary wall with chapels. The parish church was originally built in 1517 in the Late Gothic style and remodeled in the early Baroque style in 1693. The cemetery wall surrounding the church contains Neo-Renaissance reliefs of the Stations of the Cross from the second half of the 19th century.

The local cultural attractions include the Museum of Rural Crafts in Vendolí. It was ceremonially opened on July 5, 2006, as part of a gathering of former residents. The rooms were also used for Christmas exhibitions, including “Vánoční inspirace” in 2005 and a nativity scene exhibition in 2008.

Activities

The “Cyklostezka Svitavy - Vendolí” cycle path is classified as a local route. The paved Svitavy–Vendolí cycle path is 1,890 meters long and has an asphalt surface.

Thórovo kladivo is located in Vendolí in the sports complex behind the football pitch. On March 3, 2024, access was unrestricted through a permanently unlocked gate in the enclosed sports complex; there was a parking area along the fence.

The “Vendolí…a přece se točí” event was announced as the sixth edition of a cycling criterium for preschool children, schoolgirls and schoolboys, cadets, and juniors.

Nature and Surroundings

A protected small-leaved lime tree stands near House No. 210 in Vendolí; in 2006, it was named Tree of the Year in the Pardubický kraj region. A second tree near House No. 83 in Vendolí is described as having a trunk circumference of 700 centimeters and being 400 to 450 years old.

A route from Vendolí leads through the nearby area to the Svatá Trojice memorial site, 2.5 kilometers away. There is an information board, a viewpoint with a description, and a newly built tourist shelter.
