Nature and Protected Area

The Čerňovice Nature Monument is legally designated and covers 0.1900 hectares; it also includes a 0.1195-hectare protected zone. It protects an oak grove on a rocky slope above the Mže River, where the stemless asphodel occurs.

The cadastral territory of Čerňovice is relatively forested; predominantly pine forests line a substantial part of its boundary.

In the Čerňovice Nature Monument, fires may only be lit with the prior consent of the nature conservation authority. No marked hiking trail passes through Čerňovice.

Hracholusky Reservoir

Čerňovice is located in the popular tourist valley of Hracholusky Reservoir, which is regarded as a recreational area in the surrounding landscape. In the vicinity of Čerňovice, the Josef Švamberk excursion boat offers sightseeing cruises on Hracholusky Reservoir.

Culture and History

Čerňovice is home to a listed log house with stables dating from the early 19th century. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity in Čerňovice dates from 1936 and was reconstructed in 2009.
