Tis u Blatna is located in the Horní Střela Nature Park. The landscape is predominantly characterized by meadows and forests. Tis u Blatna and its surroundings also feature notable cultural monuments and several routes.
Nature
The area around Tis u Blatna is ideal for walking as well as collecting mushrooms and other wild fruits. In the immediate vicinity of Tis u Blatna, in the direction of Žihle, there is a granite rock city with groups of rocks and individual boulders, including Dědek and Bába.
Cycling and hiking trails
Two cycling routes pass through Tis u Blatna: cycling route 2261 runs through the village on the section between Žihle and Tis u Blatna. Cycling route 2152 passes through Tis u Blatna on its route from Velečín via Tis u Blatna to Podbořany.
The Podbořany–Rabštejn nad Střelou–Podbořany cycling loop is 75.3 kilometers long; Tis u Blatna is located at kilometer 44.0.
The Sklárna educational trail is an 8.1-kilometer loop. Parking is available at its beginning and end in the settlement of Sklárna. After circling Petrák Pond and Raštická louka, the educational trail leads close to Tis u Blatna. Two paths branch off from it to Mravenčí stezka and Lidčina skála.
The sports facilities at Pension U Čapků may also be used by the public by arrangement with the owners.
Culture
The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is a filial church in Tis u Blatna and belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Kralovice. It was originally dedicated to Saint George; in the 14th century, it was rebuilt in the Gothic style. The single-nave building has a pentagonal presbytery and a tower above the western façade.
The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1825 also commemorates the local history. The memorial cross of Tis u Blatna dates from 1890 and is a significant example of craftsmanship from the end of the 19th century. It stands on a granite pillar next to the bricked-up lower gate of the church. The monument commemorating the end of the Second World War stands by the road.
