The first surviving mention of Brnířov dates from 1508 and is associated with the sale of Rýzmberk Castle.

Culture and History

The Chapel of St. Martin, built in 1854, stands in Brnířov's village square. Švehlova zahrádka, a small park, is also located in the center of the village square.

The Švehlův památník was excavated and restored on June 30, 1994, by members of the municipal administration and other residents. It bears the original inscription “Švehlově památce 1935”.

Landscape and Trails

Brnířov developed gradually along a stream that rises below the 640-meter-high Dobrá hora. The mountains Jezvinec, Stangenruck, and Spálený vrch are located in the surrounding area. Bezný is a hill in the vicinity of Brnířov.

Brnířov has a cycle path and cycling routes for excursions by bicycle. Hiking trails and farm tracks in and around Brnířov are suitable for walks and bicycle excursions.

The Bayerwald-Tierpark Lohberg zoo is located in the wider regional area surrounding Brnířov.

Local Details

There is a sidewalk along one or both sides of the main road in Brnířov. There are parking areas on the newer roads above Road I/22 in Brnířov.
