Pila combines a named natural site with preserved settlement traces and a local history documented by multiple dates.

Landscape

The memorial tree near Pila officially bears the name “Čepičkovo dub na Pile”. “Čepičkovo dub na Pile” has a trunk circumference of 395 centimetres, and its crown reaches a height of 25 metres.

Kleeberg and Škarmanka, both mountains, are located in the immediate vicinity of Pila. Jacklberg and Reichenstein, also mountains, are likewise located in the vicinity of Pila.

In the wider regional surroundings of Pila, the Niva Nemanického potoka comprises alluvial forests of ash and alder, flowing waters from the lowland to the mountain level with corresponding aquatic vegetation, moist tall-herb meadows, transitional bogs and floating mats, as well as habitats of the brook lamprey.

History and Culture

Pila (Seeg) was first mentioned in 1613. In 1749, Pila (Seeg) had three mills and a sawmill. Pila (Seeg) disappeared between 1950 and 1960 because the settlement was located in the border area. Near Pila, remains of houses have been preserved.

Geographical Location

Pila is located about three kilometres west of Nemanice on the road from Mýtnice to Lučina.
